A bladder infection is a form of a urinary tract infection. It is like a second stage of the infection that originally started from the urethra. But among the types of urinary tract infection, bladder infection is the most common. This is why bladder infection treatment is so crucial.

Also known as cystitis, bladder infection is an inflammation of the bladder. This inflammation is caused by bacteria that travel through the urethra and then to the bladder.

Bladder infection is irritating and painful but it is easy to treat. Nonetheless, from the first signs of the infection, bladder infection treatment should be administered immediately.

A person will know that he has bladder infection when he feels any of the following symptoms: firstly is the strong pelvic pressure, which is also associated with discomfort of the lower abdomen. There is also an urge to urinate. In fact, at times, there is this strong urge to urinate but nothing really comes out. The urine is usually strong smelling, cloudy and has blood and is accompanied by pains or burning sensation while urinating. Bladder spasm is also felt by a person suffering from bladder infection.

So, what is the proper bladder infection treatment? Bladder infection treatment starts with antibiotics. Antibiotics fight infection right away. Once the person takes in an antibiotic, it automatically starts acting up. But antibiotics will not make the pain go away. The patient will have to ask the physician for a pain reliever, which is not at all part of bladder infection treatment. This will help the patient to endure the pain. Whatever medicines the person may take, it is important to accompany the medication with the intake of more water. The person has to urinate more. Every time the person urinates, he is sending bacteria away from the urinary system. This lessens and eventually heals the infection.
